Meadow Village: A Critical Preservation in Milwaukee

After acquisition of Meadow Village in early May, CommonBond Communities has now closed on rehabilitation financing for this 90-unit, Section 8 housing community in the north central part of Milwaukee! Meadow Village provides critical affordable housing for Milwaukee families—in a city where evictions and access to housing have been pressing issues, the preservation of these affordable units has never been more important.

This financing will allow for extensive renovation of the property, plus the addition of a new community room and site office—all of which help preserve this much-needed affordable housing located at 1470 North 17th Street. Nearly 150 Meadow Village residents will benefit from these renovations—of which about 90 are youth.

“Now, with extensive renovations to the property, our goal is to update and improve these townhomes not only for families who call Meadow Village home today, but also to ensure this property provides high-quality affordable housing options long into the future,” said Cecile Bedor, our Executive Vice President of Real Estate.
