We’re coming to Rapid City!

We're excited to share we are expanding the geography of our work by teaming up with great partners in Rapid City, South Dakota!

With plans to begin acquiring and developing in 2020, we're working closely with Rapid City leaders and advocates to not only positively impact housing needs, but also to be a good neighbor today and for many decades to come.

Here's some context on the affordable housing shortage in Rapid City:

A 2018 housing study conducted by the Black Hills Knowledge Network revealed a massive shortage of housing units (nearly 3,500) for residents whose average median household income is less than $35,000 per year. In response to that study, Rapid City Collective Impact partnered with CommonBond to build and manage affordable housing properties. One of the long-term goals is that, through resident-focused property management and community connections, Rapid City will see a more stable, secure, and vibrant community. Everyone has goals and something to offer their community, and we hope we can play a role in that by providing more people the ability have a place to call “home.”

Thanks to Rapid City Collective Impact, Black Hills Area Community Foundation, and John T. Vucurevich Foundation for the support. We truly appreciate the collaboration and warm welcome so far, and can't wait to meet more of our new neighbors!
