What is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota, and How to Contribute

Give to the Max Day is a Minnesota-based, one-day initiative started by GiveMN in 2009 to help raise money for participating nonprofit organizations and schools. The event is held on a Thursday each November, with Give to the Max Day 2022 set to take place on Thursday, Nov. 17, with early giving set to begin Tuesday, Nov. 1.

For Minnesotans who are charitable, Give to the Max Day each year represents a significant opportunity that’s not to be missed because they know the donations they make that day will likely go further than they would otherwise. This is especially helpful now, as communities throughout Minnesota and the Upper Midwest continue to rebound from the effects of COVID-19, civil unrest, and rising inflation.

Give to the Max Day 2022 is a terrific opportunity for you to help CommonBond end the year on a high note. This is because GiveMN and the Bush Foundation will be providing prize grants and other incentives to help generate urgency and support, which is meant to help participating organizations, like ours, raise more money — faster. This year, over $100,000 is available in prize pool grants and incentives. $500 golden tickets will be available, starting Nov. 1, and $1,000 Golden Tickets will be awarded hourly on Nov. 17. There are also other incentives, including a Super-Sized Golden Ticket that will award one lucky organization an extra $10,000.

All that’s required to help give CommonBond a chance at any of these grants is a donation of $5 or more. Depending on when you donate, your gift could be eligible to support CommonBond in up to three simultaneous prize drawings. That means your donation could help raise thousands of dollars. Another Give to the Max incentive is donors are able to choose whether they want to cover any processing-related fees at the time of their donation, allowing all donated funds to go directly to your chosen charity and its work, rather than some of it going to credit card companies.

Donations and volunteers are what keeps CommonBond going. Our affordable housing nonprofit, which has been at work providing affordable housing opportunities across the Upper Midwest for more than 50 years, hopes to raise at least $15,000 on Give to the Max Day 2022.

We need your support in order to meet our goal. With your generosity, you can help us continue to provide stable homes, strong futures, and vibrant communities to more than 13,000 people across the Upper Midwest.
